In an effort to improve public relations, Local 416 was looking for a way they could promote the positive aspects of their membership to the public.
The animation was an 8 month project. Union Marketing staff consulted with the Local 416 executive committee from the initial development of the introductory storyboard to the final product.
Union Marketing, working closely with Local 416, came up with the idea to produce an educational, short animation, featuring each of the membership’s 12 divisions and the important city services they provide.
The animation was well-received by unions and members of the public, receiving a standing ovation at its debut. In Your Neighbourhood continues to serve as an educational piece for children and their families regarding the importance of Toronto City workers.
