General description of duties:

Reviews all copy that Union Marketing delivers; which includes, but is not limited to all print, web and video content.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical and grammatical accuracy and flow of all written copy within company
  • Reviews all copy(written or audible) for grammatical and spelling errors prior to final delivery
  • Overlooks all domains obtained for web and social media
  • Ensures that project copy is in tune with client’s writing style
  • Conduct interviews
  • Accurately record meeting minutes for inter-office and client meetings
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or English studies
  • Excellent written and oratory skills
  • Knowledge of acceptable guidelines for publishing press releases
  • Proficient in social media platforms
  • Ability to interview subjects
  • Skills of proofreading, copy editing, developmental editing, line editing and editing for search engine optimization
  • Ability to provide work direction and training to others
  • Editor must have a thorough understanding of computer programs including:
  • MS Word, MS Powerpoint, Adobe InDesign

Other duties/skills:

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with other team members
  • Detail-oriented
  • Time-management skills
